The Hokema Sansula is an enchanting improvement of the African Kalimba. The "thumb piano" is mounted on an synthetic membrane which gives the sound additional volume and resonance. By opening and closing the bottom of the Sansula you can create a nice Wah-Wah effect.
The Sansula Standard is the lightest Sansula. It is equipped with a thin synthetic membrane which may not survive dropping the instrument or using the membrane as a drum.The tuning of the Sansula is identical with the B9. It is an A-minor sound with an additional B and F and always harmonious. Therefore it is good for beginners and older children alike. Because of the delicate membrane it is not suitable for small children.
